I kinda feel like starting this shit back up again. Definitely haven't updated in over 2 years hahaha. But that's besides the point. Oh man, so much have happened since then. But I am now happy to say that I have changed my major from biology (a subject I hated, even when I was in high school) to international business, something I could really see myself doing. Sigh. College--it's finally starting to hit me, and it's hitting me hard in the face. Hmm... Is it weird that it took me a while to figure out how to add an entry to this thing?? After all, I haven't added one in over 2 years... Well, I guess I'll start out small and write more as I go on. But that is only if I don't get lazy.

Time to update again! I suck at updating this thing. I'll talk about the Eastman trip and the HRCP concert last night. Both were very interesting...

So the Eastman trip was last Monday, Tuesday, and early, early Wednesday morning. It was definitely one of my more special trips. I mean, there were some pretty special people up there [Rochester, NY]. Our Brahms sextet and the Ravel quartet each had 2 masterclasses, one with the Ying Quartet and another with George Taylor. I thought the George Taylor one was funner though, I guess cuz he was more lively. Our sextet had some good times and some serious times. I think more of good times though. "That was my question!" lol... And we had a couple rehearsals with the Fellowship players, something like that. No one knows their real name, not even my stand partner Mike. Mike was definitely one of my cooler stand partners. I mean, after that Sr. Regional event... woooo... Let's just say it was a nice breath of fresh air. Then there were others that moved too much with their music. I won't name any names, for the sake of maybe someone from that place mmight find this xanga. Trust me, stuff like that happens. Ask Laura... My host family was the co-concertmaster of the orchestra, Sarah, and they were so nice, I felt guilty for staying at their house. -sigh- Btw, Richmond kids coming down here this Friday. Gotta start cleaning up the guest room soon. Well, the Eastman concert went pretty well. Diego didn't look too satisfied with it, but maybe that's just how he looks after every concert. The plane ride home was a pretty long one... Woke up at 3 am, got the airport at 4:45, plane left at like 5:15, got back to Newport News at 8:45, went home, and then went to school til 2 pm. Hahaha, some funny things at the Rochester airport... I wasn't there for them, but this is what I heard and thought it was pretty hilarious.
-- Norbrian gets pulled over cuz he had a baton in his bag and security  saw it and freaked out; probably thought it was a stabbing weapon.
-- Right in front of security, Charles goes, "So Pam, what are you gonna do with that gun?" and security freaked out, again.

Ok! Now about HRCP concert we had last night. Oh buddy... Good thing there weren't many people there, or my music career would be over I'm tellin you. Ok, so after the 3 ensembles were done performing [and one of the lang jai's], the whole group got on stage and started playing the Vivaldi... Well somehow, the soloists, or someone, got off and Diego [who came all the way down here from Eastman] stopped us. So I'm like, wtf... Then he started us again and one of the soloists didn't know where we were starting so we had to stop again and that time I was like, WTF! But the last song went pretty well. I was a lot more confident when Daniel was concertmaster again [no nicknames for the sake of, me]. And Norbrian really enjoyed sharing a stand with his stand partner.

All-State auditions were yesterday. I was audition number one and I guess that was pretty cool. I've always wanted to know what it's like to be first...lol. Well, I asked 2 people to call me if they know results. And Matt was the first to get to me. So my phone rang on our way back to the Beach, and I was so scared to pick it up... So after 3 rangs, I finally picked it up and he told me I got 2nd. I was pretty bummed about that. No crying though, I never cry over auditons. But I knew this was gonna happen, cuz I knew I wasn't ready. I focused on the damn Concerto Competition all January and didn't start to actually practice the All-State etude with Mr. Lin til February. I'm not gonna even bother with that competition next year. Total waste of time... Anyway, I told myself before I went into that audition room that I've tried my hardest and shouldn't worry about results since I'm not gonna do anything with music anyway. Gosh... maybe it's just because I've been so used to getting everything I've wanted, and this is the first time I've gone down. I mean, I don't hate that Mary girl from T.J. High that beat me, I'm sure she practiced her ass off and wants to go to some big music school. Everyone has their ups and downs. You'd see Michelle Kwan on the ice and expect her to get the gold medal everytime. But I remember this one time I was watching her on t.v. and I forgot what competition she was in, but she made a mistake and got bronze. Now I kinda know how she felt...  Oh yea, then I listened to Norbian's message which made me even madder cuz I didn't want to hear it again. Haha, sorry Norbrian, I'm not mad at you, but thanks for calling. Then I was talking to Dara and she told me again and by that time, I was about to go crazy cuz I really DID NOT want to hear about it. I'm pretty much over it now. My parents were ok with it, which surprised me a little... Well, all I have to say now is that I'll just try harder my last year.

Help me pick a dress for Ring Dance! So far, I've got 2 votes for the red one and 2 votes for the black one.

I need to update. -sigh

Last night was the Side-by-Side concert with the Virginia Symphonyat Chrysler Hall, and it was one of the best concerts I have ever played.  And that's only like... 1 or 2 others. The hall was full of people, definitely the biggest audience I've ever played in front of.

So after that awesome concert, me and Laura went over to Robin's house to eat some noodles [which apparently took me forever to eat, but it was goood] and then just went home. I swear Robin's dog is the scariest thing ever, and it's NOT FUNNY! No more Kuwahara til next year. =(  Sayoonara!

And thanks to everyone who came out and supported us last night! [Jim R., Patrick, Jaey & his mom, Sawyers, Temma & her mom, Jessica K. -- tell me if you missed you]
